The Honourable François-Philippe Champagne is the Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry in Canada’s 42nd Parliament. He was first elected in 2015 as the Member of Parliament for Saint-Maurice—Champlain. Before entering politics, he was Vice-President and Senior Counsel of ABB Group, a leader in cutting-edge technology that operates in more than 100 countries. He also served on several boards over the years, and was notably President of the Canadian-Swiss Chamber of Commerce. In 2017, he was appointed Minister of International Trade, and then Minister of Foreign Affairs in November 2019. In 2021, he was moved out of the Foreign Affairs portfolio to become Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry.
