Thanos Michaelides

Thanos Michaelides obtained a double major in Economics and Political Science from Brandeis University, USA, and an MBA from London Business School. Appointed CEO of Thanos Hotels in 1993, he is the visionary for Thanos Hotels with overall responsibility for the group. The company comprises three five-star luxury resorts in Paphos, Cyprus: Anassa, Annabelle and Almyra, one boutique hotel in Nicosia, Cyprus and two five-star hotels in Mykonos, Greece.

A family business in operation since 1970, employing over 1,100 people, the hotels feature enviable beachfront locations and state-of-the-art spas. Each hotel is unique in style and different in design, and they have won numerous prestigious international awards.

Thanos is also Owner and Director of the Kult Boutique luxury fashion chain, with 7 locations in Cyprus including City of Dreams Casino, Limassol, downtown Nicosia and Limassol and within the Thanos Hotels Group. Kult is the exclusive retailer in Cyprus of several top designer brands.

Thanos is President of the Cyprus Hotel Association since 2023. Previously he was also President of the Paphos Branch of the Cyprus Hotel Association, and Member of the Board of Directors of the Pafos Innovation Institute.
