Omar Kandil is currently leading Public Policy for Stripe in the Middle East and North Africa. Based in Dubai, he leads all government affairs for Stripe with UAE policymakers and collaborates with key stakeholders to support the UAE digital economy. In his latest role, Omar was leading Public Policy & Operations for Lime, the world’s micro-mobility leader. He was previously working with PwC’s Government Strategy & Operations team as a Manager in Dubai, advising governments and regulators across the UAE and the region and with the UAE Prime Minister’s office under the leadership of Her Excellency Shamma Al Mazrui, Minister of State for Youth.
Omar has a diverse background across different industries including government, venture capital, FMCG, strategy, real estate consulting and public policy and held different managerial and leadership positions at leading companies and institutions such as Procter & Gamble, JLL, PwC, Flat6Labs , the UAE government, Lime and Stripe.
Omar holds a Masters in Public Policy from the American University in Cairo with a stint at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs in New York. A French-Egyptian citizen, Omar has lived in Paris, Cairo, New York before settling in Dubai with his family in September 2014. He speaks Arabic, French and English fluently.
