Maurizio Tamagnini

Managing Partner FSI, Chairman STMicroelectronics

Maurizio is Managing Partner of FSI, the largest Italian private equity, with Euro 2 billion of assets under management, specialized on investments in Italian mid-large corporates with significant development potential. FSI is member of Private Equity 300, the international ranking of the world’s largest private equities. FSI investors include sovereign wealth funds from the Middle East, Central Asia and the Far East, leading Italian and European long-term institutional investors, European banks, insurance companies and family offices of large industrial groups.
Since June 2020, Maurizio is Chairman of STMicroelectronics. Previously, he was Chairman of STMicroelectronics from 2014 to 2017 and Vice Chairman from 2017 to 2020.
From 2011 to 2017 Maurizio was CEO and Chairman of the Investment Committee of Fondo Strategico Italiano. Previously, he spent 20 years at Merrill Lynch, where he was Head of Southern European Corporate and Investment Banking and member of Bank of America Merrill Lynch EMEA Executive Committee. He has over 30 years of experience in the investment and financial industry.
He is a member of the International Advisory Board of BIDMC Harvard Medical School.
He holds a degree in International Monetary Economics from Bocconi University in Milan and has studied at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute – Troy in New York, USA.
