Laurence D. Fink is an American business executive and the founder, chairman, and chief executive officer (CEO) of BlackRock, Inc., the world’s largest asset manager. He is also a member of the board of directors of the New York Federal Reserve Bank. Fink is widely credited with transforming BlackRock from a small investment management firm into a global financial services giant. He is a strong advocate of corporate social responsibility and has been a vocal proponent of the need for companies to focus on long-term value creation. He has also been a vocal critic of short-termism in the markets.
