Karl W. Feilder

Founder & CEO of Neutral Fuels

Since starting his first company with six friends in 1990, and selling it to Microsoft in 1995, Karl has had a long history of successfully guiding companies through the different stages of growth. He has so far built and sold six companies, most recently in 2009 to global logistics company Deutsche Post DHL, and led two companies to their Initial Public Offering.

 

Karl is a German and English speaking British national with experience conducting business in 46 countries, having established subsidiaries in over 20 different legal jurisdictions. 

 

In 2004, Karl was named by the World Economic Forum as a Technology Pioneer, and in 2007 he was invited to lead DHL’s climate change strategy by the then CEO, which led to a 3 year secondment reporting to John Allan, and then Frank Appel, CEO of Deutsche Post DHL. Following this, Karl spent 5 years leading the creation and execution of McDonald’s carbon reduction strategy for the 37 country APMEA region, based in Dubai.

 

Simultaneously, Karl started the first waste to biofuel production facility in the Middle East in 2011, using software and IoT devices to track the raw materials and the finished products, and the company is now the GCC’s largest and most successful biofuel producer. In 2018 the company became the first to receive ISCC approval for its digital fluids auditing platform, which will create a unique carbon-on-blockchain implementation.

 

In 2022, Karl stepped down from day to day management of Neutral Fuels, to search for his next great challenge and to became a non-exec director to assist other companies in their technology opportunities.
