H.E. Laila Abdullatif is the Director General of Emirates Nature-WWF, the leading environmental organization in the UAE. She is a passionate advocate for the environment and has dedicated her career to protecting and conserving the natural world.
Laila has a long history of environmental leadership in the UAE, having served as the Director of the Environment Agency-Abu Dhabi from 2008 to 2018. During her tenure, she was responsible for the development and implementation of the UAE’s first national environmental strategy and the Abu Dhabi Climate Change Plan.
Laila is a member of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Council and the Global Environment Facility (GEF) Council. She is also a member of the Board of Directors of the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW).
Laila holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from the University of Arizona and a Master of Science in Environmental Management from the University of London.
