H.E. Gabriel Abed is the Ambassador of Barbados to the United Arab Emirates. He is a career diplomat with over 30 years of experience in the diplomatic service. He has served in various capacities in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Barbados, including as Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York, and as Ambassador to the United States of America and Mexico. He has also served as the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Barbados.
Ambassador Abed holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus, and a Master of Arts degree in International Relations from the University of London. He is a recipient of the Barbados Service Star and the Barbados Centennial Medal.
