Borko Handjiski

Borko is a Partner at Oliver Wyman with 20+ years of experience in public sector work. He has advised government organizations across Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East on policy development, implementation and service delivery, and organizational transformation.

Relevant Experience (non-exhaustive) :

•Led a three year ‘Build Operate Transfer’ project to set up a new entity at the center of government

•Advised government entities in Middle East and Europe on cost optimization

•Developed a strategy for new revenue sources for a Middle East government entity

•Led the transformation of a government entity created through merger of three entities

•Advised on the setting up of a new advisory government entity

•Advised on the creation of a new office for a government leader covering all aspects of the office set up (org chart, recruiting, processes, tools, technology)

•Developed a strategy to improve the productivity of government entities

•Led a project to set up a PMO function and to support implementation of strategic initiatives of a government entity

•Developed methodology for holistic assessment of performance of core government entities

•Supported establishment of new organizations with economic mandates

•Led a project to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of government ministries

Borko has an MBA from Purdue University, and a BA in Economics. Prior to OW, Borko spent a decade with the World Bank, and six years as management consultant. He worked for three government organizations: Central Bank of N. Macedonia, European Commission and Abu Dhabi Department of Finance. He is a Board member of Macedonia2025, the largest non-profit organization promoting the economic development of North Macedonia.
