Chairman of Pitti and CEO of Kiton

Antonio De Matteis is the CEO of the Kiton Group and serves as Creative Director of Menswear. On 1 May 1986, Antonio began his career at Kiton under the guidance of his uncle Ciro Paone – the founder and president of Kiton, a fashion maison established in 1968 in Naples. In 1990, Antonio De Matteis was appointed Commercial Director of Kiton, a position that was consolidated and broadened in 2000 with the inauguration of the retail network and the opening of the first single-brand boutique in Milan’s Via del Gesù. The year 1996 marked the accession of Antonio De Matteis to Ciro Paone S.p.A., the holding company of the Ciro Paone Group, with the acquisition of a 10% share. In 2005, he took on the role of Marketing Director, in 2007 Ciro Paone appointed him Chief Executive Officer of the Group, strengthening his central role in defining the brand’s business strategy. In 2018, Antonio De Matteis instigated the creation of KNT (Kiton New Textures), the first collection designed by his sons, twins Mariano and Walter De Matteis, the third generation of the Kiton family. On 15 October 2018, he was elected Made in Italy Ambassador in Washington, receiving the NIAF Leonardo Da Vinci Award, a major recognition for his work to promote and safeguard Italian cultural values and traditions overseas. Under the leadership of Antonio De Matteis, Kiton has grown steadily and now boasts five production sites in Italy, 800 employees and 60 flagship stores around the world (including Milan, New York, London, Las Vegas, Seoul, and Beijing) and a prestigious showroom in Milan in the historic Art Nouveau building in Via Pontaccio 21, named Palazzo Kiton and purchased by the Group in 2013. In the last two years, Kiton has achieved a 60% increase in turnover to 163,000,000 euros. On February 23rd 2023, Antonio De Matteis was appointed President of Pitti Immagine.
