H.E. Eng. Abdulla Abdul Aziz Al Shamsi

H.E. Eng. Abdulla Abdul Aziz Al Shamsi is the Head of Investment and New Initiatives within UAE Clusters unit of Mubadala Investment Company’s UAE Investments Platform.

The platform contributes to the acceleration of the UAE’s economic transformation, and investing in national world class champions, fostering vibrant industrial and commercial clusters, and partnering with world-class global entities.

With over 15+ years of experience, Abdulla has led the Mubadala Healthcare portfolio overseeing investment, development, operations, and management of the healthcare assets and initiatives. Prior to that, Abdulla held the role of Chief Administrative Officer at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi where he was responsible for the activation of the hospital along with strategic growth and business development across the region. Within Mubadala, Abdulla also managed the investment, development, and growth of domestic and international real estate, infrastructure, and the hospitality portfolio, including the delivery and operation of Al Maryah Island, Abu Dhabi’s International free zone.

Alongside his role at Mubadala Abdulla also serves as a Board Member at Mubadala Health, an integrated healthcare network established by Mubadala Investment Company to drive the sustainable development and growth of the healthcare sector in the UAE and beyond.

Abdulla holds a Bachelors in Architecture from Carnegie Mellon University, a Masters in Architecture II from the University of Pennsylvania, a degree in Managing Healthcare Delivery from Harvard Business School and a degree in Healthcare Leadership and Innovation from Stanford’s Graduate School of Business.
