Pansy Ho Chiu King is a renowned Chinese Patriotic Entrepreneur and an influential international tourism industry leader. Born into a well-known patriotic family in Hong Kong, Ms. Ho has continued the family legacy by assuming the role of Group Executive Chairman and Managing Director of Shun Tak Holdings limited. This venerable company has been listed in Hong Kong for over 60 years and specializes in the core businesses of property, transportation, hospitality, and investments.
With her extensive experience and comprehensive connections, Ms. Ho also holds a respectable number of executive roles in various tourism-related enterprises in Hong Kong and Macau including the Chairperson and Executive Director of MGM China Holdings Limited. Her devoted commitment to serving her country and community extends to Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau, where she participates actively in a multitude of public and social services.
Ms. Ho is a Standing Committee Member of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference which is the political advisory body in the People's Republic of China and a central part of the Chinese Communist Party's united front system.
She is also a Vice President of All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, the largest chamber of commerce in China, which assists the government in managing China's private sector economy and acts as a bridge between the private sector entities and the government.
Influential International Tourism Leader
Ms. Ho is dedicated to the promotion of tourism development on the international front. She holds an array of senior positions in various world-class international organisations, including the International Mountain Tourism Alliance, World Tourism Alliance, World Travel and Tourism Council. Ms Ho is the first Pacific Asia Travel Association Foundation Ambassador, and a UNWTO Tourism Ambassador.
In 2012, she founded the Global Tourism Economy Forum (GTEF) in Macau and serves as its Vice Chairman and Secretary-General. In 2023, the GTEF celebrated its 10th Edition, marking a decade of significant impact. The GTEF has garnered significant support from international organizations and has robust participation from key players in the Chinese tourism sector. Over the past decade, it has attracted more than 14,000 participants from 90 countries and regions, with over 40 Counties joining as GTEF Partner Countries, along with 14 Chinese Featured Provinces/Cities. GTEF has continuously received consistent and wide amount of coverage from international press and media, valued up to USD $107 million.2
Under Ms Ho's leadership, the GTEF is expanding its global footprint and ultimately aims to become the “Davos for Tourism”, an objective that is fully supported by the UNWTO.
Leading Figure in China's Cultural and Tourism sectors
For many years, Ms. Ho has been deeply involved in the development of tourism facilities and the integration of cultural heritage into the tourism industry. As the Executive Chairman of China Chamber of Tourism, a subsidiary of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, she plays a pivotal role in guiding the tourism sector in China. The China Chamber of Tourism stands as an indispensable force dedicated to leading and unifying the tourism sector in China.
Ms. Ho is passionate about the preservation of Chinese culture and heritage. She is a Member of The Committee of Experts for the Construction of World Class Tourist Attractions and Tourist Resorts under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People’s Republic of China.
Inheriting the legacy of the family's commitment to preserving Chinese cultural relics, Ms. Ho and her family have in the past purchased Chinese cultural relics dispersed overseas and returned them to the Country. As the Vice President of the China Foundation for Cultural Heritage Conservation, she spares no effort in preserving cultural relics.
Strong Advocate for International Cultural and Artistic Exchanges
Ms. Ho has been passionate about art since she was a child, and when she grew up, she not only pursued art as a personal interest, but also actively promoted the popularization of art as a medium of international exchange. She is the first Ambassador for the Louvre in China.
Ms. Ho has been highly involved in the “French May Art Festival”, one of the largest cultural events in Asia for over a decade. She is helming this festival as the Co-chairperson currently. The “French May Art Festival” celebrated its 30th anniversary this year. Over the decades, it has been a pioneer in Hong Kong’s cultural scene and has reached over 20 million audience members. The Festival has introduced diverse aspects of French culture, spanning from its art and performances to its culinary treasures. Today, the festival is engaging with about 100 partners each year from governments and with diverse industries.
Reputable Female Leader in China
Ms. Ho is currently the Standing Committee Member of the All-China Women's Federation, the largest women's organization in China. She has a deep commitment to the development of women and children in China and is a champion of promoting international women's exchange and collaboration.
She is also the Chairperson of the Hong Kong Federation of Women, the largest women's organization in Hong Kong. In 2019, she founded the international Women Power Forum in Hong Kong. The fourth of which will be held in Hong Kong this year.
