Nimesh Karwanyun

Nimesh Karwanyun is the Country CEO – India at First Abu Dhabi Bank (since December 2018), based out of Mumbai.

In his current role he is responsible for the management and oversight of Country operations in support of the Asia and Group strategy.

An experienced banker, Nimesh brings with him over 30 years’ work experience in Corporate Banking in India. He joined FAB from BNP Paribas (BNP) as Head of Corporate Banking – India. During his stint at BNP, Nimesh transformed the business from a small franchise delivering transaction banking products to a robust self-sustained business winning big RFPs and key market leading Investment Banking deals with large corporate clients.

Prior to BNP he was Head of Global Transaction Banking - Sales for Royal Bank of Scotland, India (previously ABN AMRO Bank). He worked across various business areas spanning operations, marketing and relationship management at leading organizations including Credit Lyonnais, State Bank of India and Asian Paints India Limited.

Nimesh has an extensive work experience with MNCs as well as domestic clients in the country with expertise across Transaction Banking, Coverage Credit & Risk Management, Trade & Operations and Business Management practices.

Nimesh completed his masters in Chemical Technology from University of Lucknow, India and hold a certification in International Trade Finance & Risk Management from National Institute of Bank Management.

He is also part of various trade organizations and a panel member of the Documentary Instruments Dispute Resolution Expertise (DOCDEX) of International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and Technical Committee of ICC, India Chapter.
