H.E. Matteo Perego di Cremnago

Born in Milan on August 18, 1982, Matteo Perego di Cremnago graduated in Philosophy from the University of Milan. He subsequently earned two Executive Master’s degrees in Marketing and Corporate Finance from the SDA Bocconi School of Management at Bocconi University.

Before embarking on his entrepreneurial career at Cambiaghi — the hat manufacturing company founded by his great-great-grandfather — he worked at Giorgio Armani, where he held several positions, including Trade Marketing and Customer Relationship Management Director, E-Commerce Director, General Manager of Giorgio Armani India, and Chief Operating Officer of Giorgio Armani Brazil.

In 2018, he was elected to the Italian Chamber of Deputies and served as a member of the IV Defence Committee until the end of the legislative term. From November 22, 2021, to October 12, 2022, he also served on the III Foreign Affairs and Communities Committee.

He was the first signatory of the so-called “Mini-Naja” law, approved by the Chamber of Deputies on March 27, 2019, which launched a pilot program aimed at creating six-month military training courses for young people aged between 18 and 22.

He was also the first signatory of several resolutions within the Defence Committee of the Chamber of Deputies concerning the establishment of the Military Special Forces Rescuer role within the Armed Forces, the recognition of Veteran status, and the provision of enhanced financial allowances for Special Forces personnel.

On October 15, 2018, he was appointed Deputy Regional Coordinator of Forza Italia in Lombardy, a position he held until June 11, 2019.

Since March 31, 2021, he has served as Vice President of the Forza Italia parliamentary group in the Chamber of Deputies.

On April 21, 2022, he was appointed National Head of the Defence Department of Forza Italia.

On July 27, 2022, he was awarded the honorary “Target Acquisition Specialist” brevet by the 185th Paratroopers Reconnaissance and Target Acquisition Regiment “Folgore” of the Italian Army Special Forces.

On October 31, 2022, he was appointed Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Defence in the Meloni Government.
