Abhay Mangaldas is the Founder and Director of The House of MG, an Urban Heritage Hotel in Ahmedabad, which he has run since 1995. He represents one of the two most respected and affluent industrial families from Ahmedabad — the Sarabhais and Mangaldas — and restored his ancestral family houses, built in 1924, into a heritage hotel.
Over the last two and a half decades he has revitalised tangible and intangible heritage in the city, and has contributed significantly to Ahmedabad's certification as India's first UNESCO World Heritage City. He is also Convener of the Ahmedabad Chapter of INTACH and Managing Trustee of the Shreyas Foundation.
